How does COVID-19 antibody testing work?

In less than 10 minutes you can have a COVID-19 antibody test at the testing location and can expect your results within 24- 48 hours. Here鈥檚 how it works:

  1. A technician will take a vial of your blood through a venous draw.
  2. They'll send it to the laboratory to be tested on Abbott's Alinity i or ARCHITECT instrument.
  3. The test looks for the IgG antibody to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
  4. Results will be provided to you or your healthcare provider within in 24-48 hours.
